A new school year is about to begin and you will be learning some very important information in your classes that will definitely help you out in life. However it is very important that you make some time to be creative and use your imagination. Maybe during the summer you picked up a new hobby like a playing a musical instrument or painting. Don't abandon these just because the summer is over. These are great ways to express your creativity and use your brain in new ways. You can even be creative in your classes. Whenever you learn something new, instead of just memorizing the information , consider the implications of it and how you might be able to use this information to explore a new theory and create something new.
Let's look at our friend Einstein. No doubt he had a tremendous amount of scientific knowledge, but he had to make the effort to look at things in new ways and be creative in order to play his part in the evolution of Physics. Yes creativity also comes into play in the sciences! if it didn't, we would not have all of the wonderful technological advances that we have.
Explore your imagination and creativity! Consider:
- Playing a musical instrument
- Acting in Theater or Film
An added benefit of taking the time to do something creative is that it can reduce stress and may even improve your grades. When you take a break from studying to do something creative, you return to your books in a more relaxed state of mind and it will be easier for you to learn and memorize information. So remember to take your imagination back to school with you this year!
