Not only do we celebrate π (Pi) today, but it is also the Pi day of the century! Pi is a mathematical constant whose value we usually round to 3.14 when doing calculations. The next 2 digits in the sequence of this irrational number are 15 which is why we can call today 3/14/15 the pi day of the century. An irrational number is any real number that cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers. Irrational numbers cannot be represented as terminating or repeating decimals. Pi has been represented by the Greek letter π since the 18th century. Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.
